Ordered Steps

Support

Ordered Steps — prayer, the Bible, and a planner, where the chaos becomes ordered steps.

The quickest way to reach us is from inside the app. Settings has a way to report a problem or send an idea. The app writes it to a file and hands it to the share sheet, so you choose where it goes — and it carries enough about your build and your device to be worth acting on, without any of what you have written.

Getting in touch

support@orderedsteps.app. Saying which device you are on and what you were doing when it happened saves a round trip.

Backing up, and why it matters

Ordered has no server and no account, which means nothing you write is held anywhere but the phone in your hand. That is the point of it — but it also means deleting the app deletes your entries.

Settings has Export a backup. It writes a single file you can keep in Files, iCloud Drive or anywhere else, and Restore from backup reads it back. There is also Copy the backup as text, if handling a file is awkward. Doing this before you change phones, or before deleting anything, is the whole of the advice.

Offload the app, do not delete it

If you are clearing space, iOS offers Offload App as well as Delete. Offload removes the app and keeps everything you have written, so reinstalling brings it all back. Delete removes both. You will find it in Settings → General → iPhone Storage → Ordered Steps.

Moving from the home-screen version

The app from the App Store is a different app from the one added to your home screen through Safari, so it starts empty. Export a backup from the old one first, then restore it into the new one, and only then remove the old one.

While it is in testing

Test builds from TestFlight stop working after ninety days and have to be replaced by a newer one. If the app refuses to open and TestFlight says the build has expired, that is what has happened — it is not your data, which is still on the device. Open TestFlight and install the newest build.

Privacy

What the app does and does not collect is set out on the privacy page. The short version: everything stays on your device, and nothing is sent anywhere unless you send it yourself.
